We frequently ship pups all over
the United States. In general, when I ship a pup it is out of San Francisco International
Airport, San Jose International Airport, or Los Angeles International Airport.
I also have shipped out of San Luis Obispo Airport, which is the closest to me.
The shipping of each pup requires individual attention due to the difference in shipping
locations.
I have used United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta, Horizon, Frontier, and Alaska Airlines Cargo.
Before a pup can be shipped they must be 8 weeks of age and have a Certificate
of Health to Certify the pup is in good health. This is acquired from a Veterinarian prior to
shipping the pup. The Certificate of Health is supplied by QuailRidge Kennel at the buyers
expense of $60.00.
In addition, a 200 series kennel is required to ship the pup to
its destination. The cost of the kennel is approximately $50.00. The kennel may be kept
by the puppy buyer, or returned via mail and the buyer refunded the kennel cost. You may also
ship a 200 series kennel to QuailRidge via mail, if you already have one, prior to shipping the pup.
Shipping charges are the Puppy Buyers expense, in addition to the shipping kennel and the Certificate
of Health. The transportation of the pup to the Airport is $100.00 the above mentioned airports are required
to ship the pup to secure non-stop flights, and they are all located 4 hours from QuailRidge Kennel. The $100.00 is to cover the cost of the fuel to get
to and from the airport.
I have shipped many pups, miraculously
they have all made it in good health! I must admit I am a worried mother until I hear from the
pups New Owner that they have arrived safely.
In general, the cost of shipping a pup via the airlines, the crate
to ship it, the Health Certificate, plus the cost of getting it to the airport adds approximately $450.00 - $550.00 to the price of the pup.
